Striper Fishing

Striped Bass Fishing in our region last season was not good.  Stripers are a migratory species, and Boothbay Harbor and the Kennebec River are at the end of that migration.  There has not been a solid year of Striped Bass reproduction in the Chesapeake since 2017. The last time Striped Bass failed to reproduce like this was in the 1980s, and Striped Bass Fishing completely dried up here in Maine.   Our plan for this season is to only offer Striped Bass Fishing on our smaller boat for groups of 1-4, so we can be as aggressive as possible to find these fish.  However, in the case Striped Bass fishing improves, we will be happy to schedule a trip on either boat.. Most often, the Striped Bass trip is 4 hours. Here is a link to last year's description of Striper fishing.

Offshore Bottom Fishing

In our larger boat, we head south for an hour and then work the bottom for fish to take home and eat. During the season, one can expect to take home some combination of Haddock, Pollock, Cusk, and Whiting. This is an 8-hour trip and can take as many as 6 Anglers.

Inshore Bottom Fishing

We head just offshore, past our outer islands, to jig the bottom in open water. It is not uncommon to catch all of the following species: Pollock, Cod, Mackerel, Cunner, Redfish, and Sculpin.  Unfortunately, Cod can only be kept in September, and they must be 23" or above.  Inshore bottom fishing is usually a 3-hour trip and can be combined with lobstering or sightseeing.

Shark Fishing

In our larger boat, we head offshore in search of toothy Makos, Blues, Poorbeagles, and Threshers.  This trip can work for up to 6 people, and only 6 hours are needed.
